The Team

*R. Scott Lewis, PRESIDENT*

R. Scott Lewis is a licensed structural engineer with over 40 years of experience. He graduated cum laude from Yale University with an undergraduate degree in engineering mechanics. He earned his MS degree in civil engineering from MIT and his MBA from New York University. Scott is licensed as a professional engineer in NY, NJ, CT, MA, PA, and DC. He has been a part of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers since 1975.

*Sharon Yao, SENIOR ASSOCIATE*

Sharon Yao has over 25 years of experience in the field of sign structural engineering. She specializes in turning the client's vision into actionable drawings. Sharon performs all necessary engineering calculations for a variety of sign structures. She creates 3-D structural models of projects and analyzes them, develops connection details, and produces drawings for various sign structures. She previously taught theoretical mechanics at the Institute of Architecture and Engineering in China.

*John Swaby, DRAFTER*

John Swaby has over 30 years of experience in the sign industry. He joined R. Scott Lewis PE, PC in 2007. John prepares and designs plans and drawings for our clients. He has a deep knowledge of the sign industry, fluency in zoning regulations and restrictions, and holds certifications in Construction Project Management, Construction Technology, and OSHA.

*Renee Rajappa, ASSOCIATE*

Renee Rajappa is a structural engineer with over 20 years of experience in diagnostics services including failure analysis, structural assessment/strengthening, and building enclosures. She is licensed in New York and Nevada and is experienced in the design and detailing of concrete and steel buildings. Renee holds a Masters degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
