Fitzpatrick Engineering Group is a single discipline structural engineering firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since our inception in October 2004, we have been providing high-quality structural engineering services for a diverse range of projects, including commercial, healthcare, senior living, churches, movie theaters, warehouses, and institutional buildings. Our expertise lies in steel, conventionally reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, wood, masonry, as well as proprietary solutions like SidePlate and Ecospan.

Our team is led by Douglas G. Fitzpatrick, P.E., who has over 35 years of structural engineering experience and has been involved in all aspects of projects from schematic design through construction administration. Doug started Fitzpatrick Engineering Group in 2004 and is the driving force behind our commitment to compressing design/fabrication schedules through BIM, ultimately allowing building owners to occupy their buildings sooner.

At Fitzpatrick Engineering Group, we believe in the transformative power of technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our work. We have been pioneers in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) since our first BIM project in 2007, where we shared our structural model data with a steel fabricator for a 170,000 square foot office building. Our commitment to BIM has enabled us to shave weeks off our construction schedules and eliminate RFIs and change orders.
