Construction Material Testing

Soil and Material Consultants, Inc. provides full-service construction material testing for both private and public jobs. Our IDOT certified technicians perform on-site construction material testing, and our IDOT certified and AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP) accredited lab provides comprehensive laboratory testing. We offer a wide range of testing services for private/commercial projects, including soil testing, concrete field inspections, asphalt testing, masonry testing, and welding inspection. Geotechnical and Pavement Investigations

Soil and Material Consultants, Inc. has our own in-house drill rigs staffed with qualified personnel to obtain pavement, subsurface soil, and ground water information. Our full-service laboratory provides physical testing of the soil samples. We provide geotechnical and pavement investigation reports with engineering analysis and recommendations. Our IDOT Quality Assurance Testing will determine if established standards or requirements are met so you can gain trust, confidence and competitive advantage. Soil and Material Consultants, Inc. is always looking for qualified individuals to join our team. We offer career opportunities as an operator/soil classifier and technician. As an operator/soil classifier, you will operate the drill rig/core machine, assist the crew chief in solid and hollow stem auger drilling techniques, and move, setup, assembly, and maintain the drill rig. As a technician, you will perform construction material tests during site visits, communicate effectively, and have a degree with a background in civil engineering or geology. Any IDOT asphalt, concrete, or soil training is encouraged.
