HLA Engineers, Inc. was established in 1974 with a mission to provide exceptional structural and mechanical engineering design and analysis services to the industrial community. Since our inception, we have been at the forefront of using finite element computer simulations and classical engineering methods to solve complex problems. Over the past 47 years, HLA has expanded its scope of services to include thermal, vibration, fatigue, explicit dynamics, and computational fluid dynamics analysis simulations. • Simple Cycle SCR Duct: HLA was responsible for the structural analysis and design of a simple cycle SCR duct. Our team created a finite element model to accurately review the stress and deflections due to wind and seismic loads.
• Wind Tower Fatigue: HLA was responsible for determining the fatigue life of a critical component of a wind turbine support tower. Our team created a detailed finite element model of the doorway and inserted it into a model of the entire tower to determine the fatigue life of the existing design.
• Catenary Test Fixture: HLA conducted a stress analysis to verify the stresses and welded joints for a 1000 kip test fixture for catenary bearings. Our team created a detailed solid finite element model of the doorway and computed the stresses and margins of safety for each part.
